Preliminary Thumbnails

Just some initial ideas. I like numbers 2 & 4 but it would be great to get some feedback. if you see something you like or you have any suggestions please comment.

This one was just a bit of fun really. I was going for a David Cronenberg approach with this, crawling across the floor, possibly fresh out the telepod, but it just doesn't seem to fit with what I'm going for.

  2. I know you aaid you liked #2 and #4, but my favourite is actually #3. I like the combination of four-legged and two-legged movemement, with a posture kind of like a gorilla. I do love the hands on #5 though, that doesn't look comfortable at all. One thing I do like about #4 is how you can't support your neck - no human neck could stand up at that length, and if you hadn't developed giraffe neck muscles to match you'd be pretty much scuppered.

  3. Actually, I like the rather tragic, prostrate painting - poor Fred. You know, you may want to consider something more awkward, more asymmetrical, as if your limbs are not of an equal length, which would mean you're lopside and ungainly? Of the thumbnails, I'm drawn to number 2 - because it has a sense of pathos about it - your humanity remains - I like 3 too. I can sort of imagine, if you were uncomfortably asymmetrical, that you'd have to tie appendages or crutches to balance out your limbs - your hybrid might need some kind of contraption... I think there's something in what Meg suggests too - how would you support your neck if it was so suddenly elongated - somekind of splint, or corsetry? Thinking about your accoutrements might lend another level of interest to your portrait.

  4. Yeah I think number 2 is awesome, kind of reminiscent of The Elephant Man.
